Telemedicine

Be seen by your doctor via virtual care

Virtual care or telehealth is a synchronous audio and video platform, which is routinely utilized since pandemic and is a vital part of nowadays healthcare system. Our virtual care is aimed to improve primary care accessibility. PrimeDoc’s telehealth allows primary care physicians to provide wide-ranging services to more patients from the comfort of home. We offer improved access and convenience, while ensuring quality primary care that meets the unique needs of our patients.

Of course, it has its limitations, however, it may be helpful more in certain situations. Apart from convenience and the comfort, our telehealth platform does not require any special application downloads, may be used from handheld devices or larger electronics and allows same day appointments. Here are some common questions about telehealth.

Is my visit private?

We take our patients’ privacy very serious and comply with applicable privacy and security standards governed by law.

How does virtual care work?

After scheduling your appointment, PrimeDoc will send you a text or email link. By clicking the link you will be placed in a virtual waiting room. Your provider will start your appointment soon thereafter.

Are follow up appointments available via virtual care?

This widely utilized feature of virtual care connects our patients with providers to discuss lab findings, further evaluation and care plans. During this visit your primary care provider gets an opportunity to take time in elaborating lab findings, answer questions about both normal and abnormal findings, in contrast to being rushed to discuss those on phone, trying to squeeze time in between patients. This feature can be both time and cost saving when utilized properly.

Can I refill medication via virtual care?

Some medications may be refilled via telehealth appointments. PrimeDoc encourages patients to check with their primary care provider which medications are appropriate for telehealth refill requests and how often.

Does the provider have access to my medical records during telehealth visits?

Providers will have access to medical records through our EHR for all existing PrimeDoc patients. For our new patients’ some information may be collected by our trained medical staff prior to the visit with the provider.

Will my provider send me notes about the visit?

Yes, notes will be available to our patients through the patient portal. PrimeDoc encourages all patients to sign up and utilize the patient portal. This is the easiest and safest way to get communications from your provider.

What if I can not connect?

Although PrimeDoc employs a virtual communications platform, which does not require any application download and is very user friendly, we understand that technology may sometimes be challenging. If you are having any issues, we have a stand by team who will gladly assist you to get connected to your provider. Just call us at 703-940-0000.
